Heather J. Jones is a photorealist painter specializing in watermedia.
Originally from New York City, she has lived for over two decades between NYC and London, and now resides in New Canaan, Connecticut. Working in gouache and watercolor layered over graphite, Jones creates richly detailed and vibrantly saturated paintings that celebrate the character and craftsmanship of vintage vehicles.
Largely self-taught, Jones has refined her technique through coursework at Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York, as well as Heatherley’s School of Fine Art in London. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for precision, nostalgia, and the interplay of light and form.
Jones is an active member of the arts community, serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Carriage Barn Arts Center. Her work has been featured in several prestigious juried exhibitions, including Allied Artists of America, Grand National at the Salmagundi Club, American Women Artists and National Watercolor Society exhibitions as well as in major publications, including Fine Art Connoisseur and Art & Color 365.
Jones recently completed a major multi-piece architectural landscape commission for Grace Farms Foundation, a humanitarian and cultural organization based in New Canaan, Connecticut. Commissioned to commemorate the property’s 10th anniversary in 2025, the series is now on permanent view in the Foundation’s gallery.
In addition, Grace Farms Foods commissioned Jones to create a large-scale watercolor topographical map of the Grace Farms property. The artwork has been adapted as a custom wallpaper installation for the organization’s new café at 270 Park Avenue in New York, opening in 2026.
